Devon Country House Wedding Venues

A bride and groom walking towards Huntsham Court

As a Devon Wedding Photographer, there are so many wedding venues I’ve photographed in the Devon area that I’d recommend in a heartbeat.

It’s hard to choose on one hand which I love the most, as they’re all beautiful and unique in their own way, but here’s 5 country houses in Devon I’ve had the pleasure of photographing and to have on your wedding short list.

Rockbeare Manor

I had the pleasure of capturing an epic Winter Wedding here for Megan & Josh as well as a good few other weddings! Believe me when I say this place is the perfect venue to party to celebrate your wedding.

This beautiful country house in Devon with exclusive use has on-site accommodation, incredible light (whatever the time of year) and can look after you whether you have 50 or 160 guests.

Licensed for civil ceremonies, so you can say your I do’s at several locations in the venue, so if you’re planning a Summer wedding, how wonderful would it be to do this in the courtyard or surrounded by the trees.

Pynes House

Beautiful grounds, check. Steeped in history – check. Lush interiors – check. I mean I could go on but I’ll let the images of the venue do the talking here.

This is also a venue for the romantics. Believed to be the inspiration for Barton Park in Jane Austen’s Sense & Sensibility, Pynes is your classic country manor house.

There are all manner of elegant high-ceilinged staterooms, a lovely terrace and great lawns. The tree-lined drive really sets the scene as you approach.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Natalie & Alex for their wedding, together with pre wedding day drinks (yes I can do that too!), as they had exclusive use of the full venue for the whole wedding weekend. Family and friends enjoying their time together with garden games, delicious food and drinks in the early evening Summer climate.

Holne Park House

A stunning venue situated on the edge of Dartmoor with acres of forests and lush gardens and a lake! Jaw dropping backdrops for any Devon wedding photographer!

Four poster beds, a bridal suite and coach house so there’s plenty of accommodation for everyone to stay the night or the weekend!

As a huge outdoors kinda guy, the grounds are simply epic and taking care of Ami & Declan’s wedding images, I could have been outside a lot longer with all the amazing trees and gardens. Anyway, I won’t go on, take a look for yourself at this gorgeous venue (oh and it has a light up dancefloor too!).

Huntsham Court

Another exclusive use Devon wedding venue I’ve been lucky to photograph.  An iconic stately home to take care of your wedding, whatever the party you want to throw!

Imagine a pre-wedding gathering of all your best friends and family with pizzas at dusk and enjoying the venue and all its beautiful grounds for the full weekend. Lizzie and Rob had the venue for the full weekend and I had the pleasure of taking their pictures on Friday night and Saturday.

Luxury bedrooms, exclusive use, no corkage! Definitely have this venue on your list of must visits for your wedding day!

Shilstone House

Georgian Manor House anyone? Rolling hills, 500 acres of grounds nestled in the Devon countryside. The venue has the option of your ceremony in their Great Barn or the historic elegance of the Manor House.

Or perhaps you’d like your ceremony in their gardens. This is a beautiful venue whatever time of year and has the option of a marquee in their gardens too.

Get in touch HERE if you’re considering a wedding at Rockbeare Manor, Pynes House, Shilstone HouseHuntsham Court or Holne Park House.

Whatever the venue or time of year, I’d love to be there to photograph your Devon or Cornwall Wedding.

Drop me a message or book in a consultation so you can tell me all about it and let’s get this show on the road!
