Tash and Paul found me on Instagram (@farwoodphotography) after a friend had made a shortlist of photographers for them to have a look at. The moment we chatted over Skype and got to know each other I was massively excited to photograph their wedding.

Folly Farm is a gorgeous venue up in the Chew Valley that’s set within a 250 acre Avon Wildlife Trust nature reserve. Just to get to it you have to drive up a single track lane alongside fields of grass being quietly grazed whilst looking at the view back over Chew Valley Lake. It’s beautiful.

That sense of stepping away from the rest of the world pervades through the whole of Folly Farm. The whole place was taken over by Tash, Paul, their friends and family and that energy just carried the day.

I love to cover the day as it happens starting with bride/groom prep and going though all the way to chaos on the dance floor. Somewhere in the middle beyond taking photos in a reportage style I like to step away with my couple and take some beautiful portraits. We were spoiled at Folly Farm for wedding photography. From the woods to the fields to the sunset that drops down behind the main patio we were spoiled for choice.

The day wouldn’t have gone the way it did without some amazing suppliers and Tash and Paul chose some of the best:
